Perfect: adj: Being entirely without fault or defect : FLAWLESS : satisfying all requirements : ACCURATE : corresponding to an ideal standard or abstract concept.
People cannot, by definition, be perfect. It is really physically and mentally impossible, for pretty much one primary reason. The definition of perfection varies from person to person, so fulfilling the standards of everyone in the world would be an impossibility that seems likely to result in spontaneous combustion. Consequently, outside of math tests and other similarly scoreable things, the concept of perfection is very much a personal variation, like phobias and morals.
Usually, though they do seem to excel at pretty much everything, a person who is described as perfect is not without fault or flaw. What differs said perfect person from your run of the mill average Joe is that they handle their flaws with grace and humility. For example, let's say the perfect person in question (I'll call him "Steve", for lack of a better title) has a really hard time in relationships. While others might complain, wallow, and fail to try to rectify the situation, Steve might see his unfavorable past experiences as learning experiences for his future endeavors, and though he might have some wallowing time, moves on with a positive outlook. Or let's say Steve doesn't think he's the most attractive of creatures. A common complaint. As a perfect person, Steve might strive for self improvement, but if he doesn't, would handle this self deprecating aspect of himself with levity and good naturedness.
Perfect people don't even really have to have a good reason to be considered perfect. Deeming someone perfect could be as simple as looking at them and thinking "hey, they're not as screwed up as the rest of us."
The final mark of a perfect: They don't think they are one.
